What is KitCo?
LEARNING SYSTEM
KitCo is a modular cardboard construction kit designed so students from 5 to 12 years old make open projects. From build a vehicle or a character, to exploring a simple machine movement or design their own animals, the possibilities are endless. The students will acquire problem-solving experience, motor skills, creativity, systematic thinking, cause and effect, planning and persistence.
The Learning Science behind KitCo.
LEARNING SYSTEM
KitCo waas inspired by the concept of "hard-fun" by Seymour Papert of MIT and Carol Sperry of Harvard University. Learning can be fun because is hard, but appropriate for development, a challenge that put to the test the students' minds. Basic 2D shapes and KitKo's modularity stimulate students' spatial reasoning, promote problem,solving, reinforce motor skills and spark creativity.
The fun part follows the children's commitment and choices, stimulating delight, laughter, freedom, crativity and energy. The source materials' design is intended for students to focus on the process of creation, more than making a nice-looking final product. KitCo is designed to be folded, cut, painted and transformed withe imagination of the children.
KitCo was born having in mind the hands and hearts of the students, just like the eyes and teachers' thinking. With the desire that engineering, design and artistic creation to being inclusive.

KitCo and the environment.
KitCo is an ecological puzzle that aims to demostrate that intellectually stimulating game and sophisticated learning doesn't need an expensive robotics set or a step-by-step plastic kit. Learning is produced when students have the freedom to explore with their body and connect their imagination with the tangible world. KitCo is an ecological partner for that journey, it gives priority to the students' creativity without random tech or overwhelming colors.
